The Peninsula has miles of coastline; sandy beaches, rugged cliff faces, sheltered sandy coves and bays. A true fisherman’s paradise with many boat ramps, long jetties and the clear, clean ocean teeming with whiting, garfish, snapper, squid and many other varieties of marine life. SA Fishing Adventures, based in the beautiful Marion Bay will have you hooked with a chartered fishing package. Innes National Park, located at the southern tip of the Peninsula is one of the most spectacular coastal national parks of South Australia. Emus, wildflowers, dolphins and ship wrecks can all be seen here.

The many peaceful resort towns like Port Broughton, Stansbury, Port Vincent and Port Hughes are ideal for that relaxing get away. Moonta was the site of the richest copper mine in Australia and was once the second largest town in South Australia. Many of the solid stone buildings are still in tact and the Moonta Heritage Site offers interesting information including a museum and old miner’s cottage. Running down the middle of Yorke Peninsula is a strip of the richest grain country in the world and the Yorke Peninsula Field Days held bi-annually in Paskeville draws people from all around the world (see: www.ypfielddays.com.au). Visit unique Barley Stacks Wines, the only winery on the Yorke Peninsula.
