 Port MacDonnell Maritime Museum - Now Open 7 Days!

The Port MacDonnell Maritime Museum is now open in a new larger premises at the Rural Transaction Centre (5 Charles Street).

We are be bigger and better than ever so if you have been to visit our museum before it is definately worth dropping back in again.  We are working on new displays and enjoying having much more space to expand into.

The Maritime Museum holds a fascinating collection and display of maritime artifacts an memorabilia.

You will enjoy a large display of  information and artifacts telling the story of Port MacDonnell as a historic trading port and how it became Australia's Southern Rock Lobster Capital.

Learn about the many ill-fated ships which came to grief in the area.

See artifacts including a bell and signal cannon from the Admella, ship logs, diaries, communication equipment and timbers from some of the many ships which foundered on the rugged local coastline.
