Come along to South Australia's multi award winning festival - The Laura Folk Fair.
April 10th & 11th 2010 & April 2nd & 3rd 2011
Experience a great family weekend, the two day fair is one of food, art, craft, street stalls and great family entertainment with story tellers and buskers. The traditional colourful balloon opening is now a much photographed event. Bush bands, and a twilight folk concert as well as a spectacular fireworks display provide fantastic entertainment with a traditonal Australian flavour. The valuable Art Award and the Laura Literary Award are but two of the activities which reflect the high quality of local talent in the region. Australian poet and writer C.J. Dennis of "The Sentimental Bloke" fame, is a much respected early identity of Laura. His father was the licensee of the Beetaloo reservois Hotel from 1910 and Clarrie Dennis spent much of his youth in Laura.
Laura is a delightful town nestled into the eastern slopes of the Southern Flinders Ranges, 32 km north of Crystal Brook on the Main North Road. The township comes alive over the two days of the Folk Fair and it is a great time to visit this fantastic region of South Australia.
Be sure to mark April the 10th and 11th on your calender and we will see you there!
